MedicAlert Foundation Canada and Alzheimer Society of Canada announce Good Samaritan Award

Toronto, Ontario, November 7, 2016 – To mark National Senior Safety Week, the MedicAlert Foundation Canada and the Alzheimer Society of Canada have launched a Good Samaritan Award to foster greater community support for people living with dementia. The award is designed to recognize members of the community who are willing to go out of their way to assist people with dementia, who may have become lost or gone missing, so that they can return home safely.  Read more

Owen Sound Police Service announces partnership with MedicAlert Foundation Canada through “MedicAlert Connect Protect” service

Owen Sound, ON (June 17, 2016) – The Owen Sound Police Service announced a new partnership with MedicAlert Foundation Canada to bring a new emergency service called MedicAlert Connect Protect to Owen Sound and Grey and Bruce counties. This new service will benefit citizens who are prone to wandering away from their environment such as children and adults living with autism, seniors affected by dementia, and others with special needs or  cognitive disorders. MedicAlert Connect Protect gives police officers immediate access to a MedicAlert subscriber’s photo, identity, emergency and medical information helping them quickly reunite wandering individuals with their loved ones. Grey County police officer makes a ‘legendary call’

Ajax, ON (April 2016) – MedicAlert Foundation Canada is proud to announce that Constable Ken St. John of the OPP Grey County Detachment will be awarded the Legends of the Call award for 2016. This distinction, awarded just before MedicAlert Month in May, is presented to an emergency responder who follows the MedicAlert Look, Read, Call Procedure which is designed to protect and save the life of someone in need. Hamilton Police Service announces partnership with MedicAlert Foundation Canada
