We want as many Canadians as possible to have access to Canada’s most trusted medical ID. Leaving a legacy gift in your will is a lasting statement of your values, your generosity and your commitment to MedicAlert’s mission.
There are many reasons to choose to leave a legacy gift. For some it’s about supporting a charity close to their heart; for others it’s a way to ensure their memory lives on after they are gone. Whatever your reason, naming MedicAlert for a gift through your estate ensures that we can help more children, more adults and more seniors who cannot afford the security of MedicAlert protection.
There are several ways that you can leave a legacy. A bequest is the most common type of legacy gift and can be a specific dollar amount or particular asset, a percentage of your estate or the remaining balance of your estate after you’ve provided for loved ones. Other common legacy gifts include naming MedicAlert as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy or Registered Retirement Saving Plan (RRSP). In every case, your gift transfers to MedicAlert only after you no longer need it.
We don’t want to turn anyone away from our lifesaving service. Your gift will help ensure the continued success of our charitable programs so that we can continue to provide critical support and assistance to as many Canadians as possible.
When planning your will, discuss your goals, the needs of your beneficiaries and your philanthropic wishes with a legal advisor. To notify us of a legacy gift, or to discuss your interest, please feel free to contact us.
