Ways to Donate
Monthly Giving Club
MedicAlert’s Monthly Giving Club is a thoughtful and simple way to support a cause that is important to you. Not only will you help us to reduce administration costs, you’ll be providing MedicAlert with a source of reliable funding that will help us plan for the future.

It is easy to schedule an ongoing gift through our secure online donation form and eliminate last-minute scrambles to donate each December. As a Monthly Giving Club member, you may direct your contribution to the program of your choice including IDEA, Education or No Child Without. You may also choose to make an Undesignated contribution which we will direct to the area of greatest need. Members give in the amount that is appropriate for them and receive the benefit of an annualized tax receipt in January of each year.

If your circumstances change and you would like to stop or change your contribution, simply contact us at 1.800.668.1507 to make the adjustment.
Commemorative Gifts
The Commemorative Gifts Program at MedicAlert provides our community with the opportunity to share their generosity while recognizing and celebrating the achievements of family, friends and colleagues. Whether a tribute or a memorial for someone who has passed on, Commemorative Gifts allow you to share your values while honouring those who are important to you.

If you would like to make a Commemorative Gift, please contact us at 1.800.668.1507.
Leave a Legacy

Leaving a legacy gift in your Will is a lasting statement of your values, your generosity and your commitment to MedicAlert’s mission.

There are several ways that you can leave a legacy. A bequest is the most common type of planned gift and can be a specific dollar amount or particular asset, a percentage of your estate or the remaining balance of your estate after you’ve provided for loved ones. Other common legacy gifts include naming MedicAlert as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy or Registered Retirement Saving Plan (RRSP). In every case, your gift transfers to MedicAlert only after you no longer need it.

When planning your Will, discuss your goals with your lawyer and financial advisor if you have one. It is also important to make your philanthropic wishes known to your family and loved ones in advance. Employee Giving Programs

Many companies want to support their communities as well as the causes that are important to their employees. To do so, they make it easy for employees to donate to their favourite charity by offering workplace giving programs. Through these programs, donations to the charity of your choice get deducted directly from your paycheque.

To see if your organization supports this type of giving, simply ask your Human Resources (HR) department. If it does, request a paycheque deduction contribution to MedicAlert Foundation Canada so that you can help us offer everything from financial assistance to Canadians who cannot afford the security of MedicAlert protection, to training for healthcare professionals on how best to use our exclusive 24/7 Emergency Hotline.

Some companies also offer matching donation programs and will match any financial gift made by its employees 1:1 or even 2:1. A matching gift helps us grow our charitable programs even faster, meaning we can help more children, more adults and more seniors get the security of MedicAlert protection. Again, all you have to do is ask your HR department.
